Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
Employee assistance programs provide a range of different services and resources. In general, EAPs provide assessment and services for addressing a range of personal and professional problems and concerns that interfere with employees’ overall well being. EAPs may help individuals with emotional and substance use issues, interpersonal relationships, work/life balance, legal problems, and financial difficulties. EAP professionals may also provide training and/or consultation to managers and supervisors on organizational concerns.

EAP services are typically provided at no cost to the employee (although the number of sessions may be limited), and services may be delivered in person, by telephone, or through information technology media.

The LEDR team knows that EAP programs are under utilized and there is a need for training to providers on how to manage public safety specific individuals and agencies. One of the goals of the team is to provide this training and get qualified providers to offer access throughout the state of Wisconsin.
